Choosing the right rental company is crucial for a successful holiday

What insurance benefits are included?

When renting a McRent vehicle, you are granted comprehensive insurance with a 7.500 NZD own contribution per event of damage and liability insurance with a third-party liability insurance with a global limit of indemnity of 10 Mio. NZD.

The standard insurance covers you for accidental damage to the vehicle and any liability if the vehicle injures someone else or their property. As long as you’re not negligent or irresponsible (for more details regarding insurance exclusions, see terms and conditions).

Your Liability
If the vehicle is damaged, you are required to contribute to the cost of replacement or repair up to the excess (deductible) amount.

Included is the basic access of NZ$7500.
Comprehensive coverage with a deductible of 7.500 NZD per damage
Customer will be invoiced after the rental for AdBlue + RUC – Road user charge

You can reduce the amount you need to contribute if you take one of the two liability reduction options:

Liability reduction to 1000 NZD
(Collision Damage Waiver, limited for the first collision only)
Reduction from 7.500,- NZD to 1.000 NZD.
Customer will be invoiced after the rental for AdBlue + RUC – Road user charge
Liability reduction to 500 NZD incl. RUC
(Collision Damage Waiver, limited for the first collision only)
Reduction from 7.500,- NZD to 500 NZD.
Customer will be invoiced after the rental for AdBlue
Liability reduction to 0 NZD incl RUC + AdBlue
(Collision Damage Waiver, limited for the first collision only)
Included are the following extras: Camping Table, Camping Chairs for all pax, Wifi and child seats (if required) included, Reduction from 7.500,- NZD to 0,- NZD.
No deposit at Pick-Up required.

You can reduce your liability during the booking process under Extras.

Visitor Visa / International Visitor Conservation And Tourism Levy

To enter New Zealand you might need a visa or an NZeTA.

Allow up to 72 hours for processing, but it could take as little as 10 minutes.

You may also have to pay an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL).
The IVL costs NZD $100 and is paid at the same time as the NZeTA.

If you are from a visa waiver country you must hold an NZeTA before you travel.

Australian citizens do not need an NZeTA.
An NZeTA request costs NZD $17 on the free app, or NZD $23 if completed online.

The rental fee includes:

All vehicles have comprehensive complete fittings:

Kitchen with refrigerator and cooker, bath room with sink, shower and chemical toilet (cassette), heating, fresh water and waste water tank,

Safety belts in living quarters, power-steering, connection cable, New Zealand standard plug set for 230 V, separate 12 V battery for living quarters, battery charger, fire extinguisher.

Extras like camping chairs and table, child seats, NZ camping Atlas and Wifi are available at a small surcharge. We recommend booking these ahead of time to avoid disappointment on the pick-up day.

Choose your extras and pretty much all you need is taken care off! Just bring your camera and clothes…

All vehicles are equipped with a stereo system that allows
to connect phones via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. This way customers can use the GPS from their phones to navigate.

*Please note all vehicles have unlimited kilometres but the Road User (Diesel tax) and AdBlue Charge has to be paid at time of Drop Off.

Furthermore specials could have limited kilometres, they are separately marked. Extra kilometres will be charge according to the valid price list.

Group / Vehicle Class McRent

Bookings are confirmed for a Group / Vehicle Class.

McRent will make every effort to provide the vehicle requested, but where a vehicle is unavailable for any reason they reserve the right to provide you with a comparably high standard vehicle at no extra cost. While including the same facilities, vehicle layouts may vary slightly to those shown due to manufacturer’s design changes. You will have the same number of seats and sleeping places, guaranteed!

Bookings Terms and Conditions

Before making a booking, you should read the terms & conditions.

McRent shell make every effort to provide the vehicle requested, but where a vehicle is unavailable for any reason, they reserve the right to provide you with a comparably high standard vehicle at no extra cost. While including the same facilities, vehicle layouts may vary slightly from those shown due to manufacturer’s design changes.

Please note: McRent vehicles pick-up and drop off are at the same time (24-hour cycle). When you request a drop-off time later than your pick-up time, there is a $50 per hour charge that will be applied after your booking is confirmed. The maximum charge is $300 for a 9am pick up and a 3pm drop off.

It is highly recommended by McRent that all travelers purchase Travel Insurance to protect themselves during, and before, their journey. Some Travel insurance can mean that you are covered in the event of needing to cancel your bookings because of illness, etc.
